Facial Therapy

This 2 day course is ideal for either the beginner or qualified therapist wishing to learn about the skin and provide a relaxing, professional facial with results. Students will work on each other as well as having the opportunity to work on clients for assessment. You will be working with the Dermalogica skin care range and by the end of the course you will have the skills you need to perform the routine in the commercially acceptable time of one hour.

    The course will cover:

  • Hygiene, health & safety
  • Anatomy & physiology of face and skull, muscles, bones, circulation, lymph
  • Equipment and products
  • Preparation of treatment room, trolley and client
  • Contra-indications and contra-actions
  • Skin types, skin diseases and disorders
  • Characteristics of ethnic groups
  • Client consultation
  • Skin analysis
  • Cleansing, toning and moisturising, exfoliation
  • Steamers
  • Facial masks, ingredients, types and application
  • Massage mediums
  • Benefits of facial massage, movements effects
  • The importance of selling products to the client
  • Aftercare advice

Duration: 2 Days - consecutive or split
Time:9.30am - 5pm (can be arranged to suit the student)

You will receive the Guild accredited Elite Certificate at the end of the two days which will enable you to gain insurance and work in the industry.

If you are intending to go with the Dermalogica Range, you will need to complete the course below.

VTCT Level II Award in Facial Massage and Skin Care

This 4 day course is extended to fit the 68 GLH required - (Guided Learning Hours) and will cover the above plus 2 days extra for covering ranges, knowledge requirements (oral questions) , 3 practical assessments and the independent assessment (theory paper). You will receive the EBA Certificate at the end of the four days so that you can gain insurance to work on the public. You will then be registered for the VTCT - NVQ level II Award for Facial Skin Care which will arrive usually within the week.

Duration: 4 Days either 1 day per week or two
